Public Works
Department
The San Miguel County Public Works Department is comprised of three (5)
divisions providing services within San Miguel County. Those
include the Solid Waste Division, Road Division, the Building & Grounds
Maintenance Division Animal Control and Crusher operation.
Solid Waste Division
The Solid Waste Division is responsible for operation of nine
(9) staffed Solid Waste Convenience Centers available to County residents
for disposal of solid waste five days per week. There are additional six (6)
drop off bin sites where County customers may dispose of solid waste. The
Solid Waste Division also transports solid waste from these
Convenience Centers and bin sites to the Northeastern Regional Landfill and
The Santa Fe Caja del Rio Landfill.
Road Division
The
Road Division is responsible for the general maintenance and upkeep of
over five hundred (514) miles of roads throughout the County.
Additionally, the Division is responsible for managing Road Improvement
Projects which may be funded through other funding sources.
Buildings & Grounds Maintenance Division
The Buildings & Grounds Maintenance Division is responsible for the
overall maintenance and upkeep of facilities at the Courthouse and
other County facilities.
Animal
Control
The
San Miguel County Public Works Division is also responsible for Animal Control
Service within San Miguel County. We also provide Animal
Control within the Village of Pecos.
Crusher
Operation
The
Crusher Operation is responsible for providing base course material to
apply to County Roads.
