Mission Statement:
The Mission of the San Miguel County Detention Center is:
Ø To provide protection to the public, staff, and inmates by operating a secure and safe institution by
maintaining custody and supervision of inmates classified to this institution in a humane manner.
Ø To implement, operate and monitor appropriate programs to support the education and socialization of
inmates thru:
1) Adult Basic Education / GED
2) Institutional Work Programs
3) Religious Programming
4) Recreation, Social and Leisure Activities
4) Mental Health Services
5) Alcoholics Anonymous / Narcotics Anonymous – Drug and Alcohol – Chemical
Dependency Treatment / Groups
6) Self Help / Self Improvement Group Treatment
Ø To provide a constitutional institution for confinement of inmates
