The Local Emergency Planning Committee will hold a public meeting on July 14, 2010 at 10:00 a.m., at the San Miguel County Commission Chambers.Preparing for Heavy Rain, Flash Floods and Lightning Strikes
A disaster
designation was declared in neighboring Colfax and Harding counties due to
losses caused by drought and high winds that occurred between January 1, 2009
and December 31, 2009. If anyone feels that they received at least a 30% loss in
crop production or a physical loss to livestock they may be eligible for a loan
through the USDA. Farmers in eligible counties (Colfax, Harding, Mora, Quay, San
Miguel, Taos and Union Counties) can follow the link listed below for more
